Who are we?

We are an English magazine in Prague, launched under the auspices of Charles University, dedicated to original publications and reviews on contemporary art.

Our mis-en-scene being Prague, we are an English quarterly launched in September 2009 under the auspices of Charles University, dedicated to publishing the oeuvre of up-and-coming artists, ranging from writers, filmmakers, painters and photographers. It is also imperative for us to provide our readers with circumspect reviews on recent events in the world of art, as well as on what goes and comes around it, in general.

We try to provide an eclectic outlet for writers of various ages, genres and geographic locations and venture to bring their work to the attention of critics and publishers, as well as to find means to convey their message to the open-minded public. Poetry, short fiction and excerpts from novels and novellas can be all found regularly on the pages of GRASP. We also attempt to offer an assorted digest of non-Anglophone writing, translated to English, from authors all around the globe.

In addition to original publications from our contributors, we do our best to come up with reviews on theatre plays (their stage productions), poetry, fiction, independent film, art exhibitions, the politics of art, and more. One of our top priorities, as a platform for contemporary critique, is to draw the public's attention to practically anything artistic, noteworthy and consequential that has been overlooked by mainstream media.
